This has to be one of the stupidest things Verizon has done, you can't even search their website for accessories without it pulling up the razr maxx/hd.

Use the search phrase ...
"droid maxx"
... with the quotes.
Do the same thing on Google.

You can remedy this on Verizon's website by going to the Accessories tab, choose Smartphones, and pick the Droid Maxx. Then you will only get accessories for that model. You could also try using the model number XT1080. If you use the Verizon Accessories app the above instructions will work as well.
I'm sure the same thing happened for OG RAZR & Maxx owners when the HD versions launched a year later, but it is nowhere near as bad as it is with the Nexus 7. There was no change at all in the name, only that it was the 2013 model. Even adding a 2 or 2013 won't necessarily get you what you need. It's almost as bad as the "New" iPad.
