Help Droid Maxx-Text Messaging Error

Hey there! For the past few days I've been receiving text message errors. It usually reads "Your text messaging has stopped". Then the individual message I was in will refresh itself and take me back to my main box where all my messages are listed. When returning to the individual contact to check the status of the message, it sometimes reads "sending" and has the red upside down triangle with a white explanation point inside. I have checked the details and the code listed is 1 and also the status shows "pending".
Can someone please help me get rid of this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
