Droid noobi here with a question??

I am a lifetime blackberry fan, but decided to check out the droid line of cell phones because of internet issues. I travel alot, and I am a huge internet freak, especially when I travel. My question is, are there additional data charges when my verizon droid 2 global is providing my laptop with internet? I have the mobil hotspot for $20 extra a month, but it costs alot of money to use the net that way. Also, will verizon know I am teathered outside of mobil hotspot? BTW, have the basic data plan with verizon wireless for smartphones. Thanks guys!

If you use non-Verizon tethering and transfer a LOT of data then yes they'll likely figure it out...
