Help Droid Razr HD - Remove labels from contacts

Earnoldo

Newbie
How can I remove the labels that say Mobile, Home, Work from my contacts. I use Direct Dial on my home screen for my wife. Her picture thumbnail has her name underneath but there is a black label through the bottom of the thumbnail that says Mobile. Is there a way to remove that label so that the entire thumbnail is displayed with her name underneath?
Thank you.

Can't. Those labels are for quick reference. Could you imagine the backlash if you called someone whose # you set as mobile and it actually called them at home or work, and interrupted someone doing what they shouldn't be doing? Been there. No thank you.

Just a thought here. I think you can add lables for a given contact. Try all spaces and see if it takes. If it does make it the direct dial number. It won't make the picture bigger but you won't see any word either.

I used the custom as well this afternoon and while the spaces didn't work I used the smallest character on the keyboard and it did. I typed one digit of it. It did allow the whole picture to show on the direct dial widget with just a small white spot where you would see the type of phone.

No. Just a small white dot on top of the picture. Apparently the type of phone "overlays" the picture.

GS300,
My bad. I am mixing apples with oranges. I started out dragging the Direct dial widget to the home screen and it had the black label
covering the lower portion of the face thumbnail. I just realized I could drag the Contact widget to the home screen and voila! a clean entire thumbnail.
This is my first smart phone and my first Droid. I see that calling things by their proper name is the key to solutions. Thanks for your help.
