Root Droid Razr Maxx HD on Straight Talk(ATT)?

So the Droid Razr HD variants have the proper GSM radios to support ATT built in. I haven't tried yet but from what I hear there is a soft block on the stock software that prevents the phone from working on non Verizon US carriers.

I haven't followed the scene on hacking this phone in a long time so I want to know if there is any way(rooting or flashing a new rom or anything) yet to make my Droid Razr Maxx HD work with a Straight Talk ATT sim card and service.

I can be done. You have to flash the Austrailian version of the radio and it will work on US GSM. You can flash back to the Verizon radio as well without wiping.

I'm currently on the latest official stock build of the phone OS and my phone isn't rooted. Is there any step by step info I can find that tells me exactly what I need to do?

I found this guide here and used it. I don't get to test and see if it worked until a few more days from now but I believe I did everything right.

Could you please post your results? I am intreested in doing this exact same thing with my Droid RAZR Maxx (not HD), and I'm curious how you made out.
