Well I already have the S3 but may switch to the Razr Maxx HD after it launches. I really don't like the build quality on the S3. I thought the more I used it, the more I'd get used to it and the less it would bother me. But it's been the opposite. I'm hoping the build on the Maxx HD (and LG Optimus G which I'm also considering) will be significantly better.
I also think the phone is just a tad to big for me. The Maxx HD is 5mm shorter and 3mm narrower. May not seem like much, but when you have smallish hands like me, every mm helps.
The reception and radios are definitely the weakest of any phone I've owned as well. I can live with it but if the Razr offers better, that's just another plus.
The only thing the S3 has over the Maxx HD, for me anyway, is an extra gig of ram. But as long as the phones runs smoothly for all the things I need it to do, I'd be okay with it.
My advice to you is that if you're not in a rush, wait for the Maxx HD to launch, compare the two phones in person, read a few reviews, then decide. That said, the S3 is still a very good phone for the price. But after having had it for several months now, I just think it's not the right phone for me.
