Help Droid Razr Singal Drop When Tethered

UGGGHHH!!! I just upgraded from a Thunderbolt to a Droid Razr...I use my phone as my main internet connection...I live in the sticks and it's really my only choice. Anyways, when Im tethered my signal drops CONSTANTLY...I unplug the usb cord..few mins later it comes back..Signal ONLY drops when tethered...Anybody else have this problem? Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks
