droid x connect problem with tablet

I have a Droid x,and i am trying to connect my Samsung galaxy with for wifi. Every time I download an app for wifi, I get a pop up window from Verizon saying my Droid is not set up with this feature for connecting with tablet. Anyone else have a problem with this? If you had luck with your droid x connecting to your tablet, how did you do it. Would appreciate any feedback not this.

If you haven't subscribed to/purchased a tethering plan, it will not work regardless of how much data you have to play with.
