Droid X to Razr ??

Had the X since it came out. Been very happy with it. Always have at least 20% battery left at the end of the day. I dont have 4g where I'm at. Is it worth it to upgrade to the Razr, and how will battery life be with just 3g compared to the X.

I upgraded from the X last Friday. Within 30 minutes I had my Razr set with the same background, widgets, and shortcuts so that it feels like the same phone. Obviously, it's not the same phone. The Razr is faster but not so much so that I feel like I was "missing out" with the X. 4G is faster but there are times where I feel like the X downloaded the same pages just as quickly. Phone works very well and construction is good.

Right now my only real gripe is with the HDMI dock. Since the USB and HD connections are on top of the phone you have to slide it into the dock. That's relatively easy but sliding it out is a nuisance. I end up fumbling around trying to get it out and half the time it pops out and falls to the table top. I use it as my alarm clock so it sits right next to the bed and every morning I fumble with getting it out of that dock.

If you have an upgrade to use I'd say it's worthwhile. If your X is in good shape and you're going to pay retail for the Razr I'd wait. Definitely an upgrade but not worth $649 at retail. No phone is.

You will be upgrading in almost every way. Better hardware, better screen, ICS upgradable, and when your area does get 4g coverage, you'll have a capable device. Battery life should be great since you don't have 4g. 4g can really hog a battery. You should have no problem with battery life only running 3g. Personally the razr is the best device I have ever owned.

Having both the DX and Razr running in the same house, both on 3g, the Razr definitely gets worse battery life, even with smart actions.

That said, it is far superior in every other way. If battery is your number one issue, you might want to wait, or go with the Maxxx.
