Hello everyone,
My Droid X will no longer get a cellular signal. The signal bars are grayed out and there is a red circle with a cross over them. I believe that this has been caused by water damage as I accidentally ran my Droid X through the wash a couple of months ago but I want to be sure that there is no way to fix it and that it was not caused by the Gingerbread update which came out just a few days before I ran it through the wash.
After I ran the phone through the wash, I did let it dry out in a bag of dry white rice for 2 days. I powered it up and it worked great at that time except for not being able to get a signal. I figured it must not be all the way dry so I took the battery back out and let it dry for a few more days. Unfortunately, after that I could not get the phone to power on at all anymore so I gave up and just left it sitting on my dresser for about 6 weeks.
2 days ago, I decided to try to power it on again and what do you know? It powered on and works perfectly except for not getting a cellular signal. I did some reading and found that at least one person said that getting a new battery solved their problem, so I tried that but no luck. I have also tried SBFing back to Froyo and then SBFing Ginerbread but still no luck.
Does anyone have any other ideas that I might try before I sell this thing on Ebay for parts?
