Help Droid x will not start up nore will factory setting

So i had my droid for about a few years its been acting weird for a few weeks randomly restarting and now it just wont turn on... it gets stuck at the red eye and then screen goes black. I tried to go to factory restore once I get the the ! i hit search button wont go to factory restore.. Any help would be nice :[

Secondly, could i have a little more information on your device?

What version of Android was it running when this happened, and was the device rooted/romed?

Thank you I believe it was running the latest software not sure but it had roms if that was what you where asking and it just happened 40 minutes ago

And you can't make it to the factory restore option?

Also have you tried letting it sit on the boot screen for 10-15min? I know my phone, sometimes, only when i am installing a new ROM or something, sits at boot screen for up to 10min, you might just want to sit and wait for a bit.

Otherwise getting to the factory restore option is pretty critical.

Hm I will try that i suppose Not sure if i need to bringit in since it is pretty beat up but thank you for advice friend :] was expecting to get yelled at to use google or something

Alright I left it on throughout the whole day checked on it hour after hour still wont work? Factory setting is the same way... I am guessing sending it back

use both volume button, not search
changed with gingerbread 2.3.3
