Help Droid x2 car dock

I just purchased my second car dock for my Droid x2. The phone would not charge while in the dock on the first one I bought. The second one is doing the same thing. The phone goes in to dock mode but the phone will not charge while in the dock. If I plug the charger directly into the phone, it charges just fine so I know the charger is ok. The funny thing is, I have a dock on my night stand that I put the phone in at night and the phone charges fine in that dock. What are the chances that I bought two car docks and they are both defective?
Any thoughts or ideas before I send this one back too.

I use the car dock all the time with mine, works fine except for a couple of times when the plug worked loose. Sounds to me like two bad docks, unlikely as that may seem....

Mine does this to me from time to time. Try unplugging both connections and replugging them in again while the phone is already in the dock.

Is this the OEM dock, or is it an aftermarket one?
