both are androids and that is about all i know android. Is there a difference between these two other then carriers and manufacturers?

How about the pros' and cons' of either these devices?

Is it possible to set-up either of these devices so that it will act as hotspot for your personal network access when your on the go?

anyone have exp w/ virgin mobile package 'unlimited data/web w/ 1200 any time minutes for flat fee with no monthly contract'? Is this plan for real or or do you get an bill that reflects more then set price extra minutes that you did no you were using?

I have never had a need for a smartphone until now. i must have the ability to access the web (securely at times), get directions downloaded for gps and a teliable signal for calls. From the information i have received regarding smartphone hookup, a customer must have a smartphone data plan that can run the bill up to $100.+ a monthly with tax, etc.

Ive been a loyal verizon customer for almost 10 years, but the prices they are asking for are just not what i am willing to pay if not necessary.

So anyone willing to drop me a line on their experiences, information, opintion, likes, dislikes, advantages or disadvantages? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have never used Verizon, but I did have the optimus v, tried to use it for a couple months. The plan is great, I would switch back and forth between the 1200 minute plan and the 300 plan. The only extra charge is your state's sales tax, 6% here in Pennsylvania. People report problems with automatic billpay, but it is fine if you just buy the minute cards in stores. The only problem I had with virgin mobile is the internet. Not that fast, and would not work a lot. I was so sick of toggling airplane mode, re-activating the phone, and all those dumb little fixes. Maybe the problem is fixed by now, I gave that phone to my mom months ago, and have been a happy ATT customer ever since.

I've got the optimus, and the reception is great where I live. I use it as a hotspot on vacations. The $25/mo plan is awesome. Just don't run a fancy launcher and it'll run fine.
