Root DROIDX 4.5.621 possible to SBF to previous firmware?

no, once the bootloader is changed there is no downgrading, you will be officially stuck on what vzw has supplied you

*EDIT*

Moved to All Things Root

oh wow that sucks but in the future I wonder if someone will come up with a method so that we can go back to SBFing are phones once again?

I suspect it'll be like last time where root was acquired on a newer phone, but also worked on ours. Most of the devs have moved on to newer phones.

rootkeeper did work, however you will not see custom roms on this version of android, until a root ability is found, and the fact p3droid quit doing it. (i dont think he was ever finding the root for these ota's, i believe his contact inside was rooting them for him, and he was passing them off as his work, otherwise he would be all over this as well)

is this to say we may never be able to leave the island once we venture to it? or is it possible to go back to a previous build via sbf or other means?

Once you're on 621, you're on it(for now, no one has come up with an SBF method that will downgrade). Being that most development has ceased, I wouldn't count on a whole lot for the X anymore. It's a dated phone by technology standards. I'm counting down the next 6 months that I have left until an upgrade, then it's time to get the latest and greatest.

I am getting the message that 4.5.621 is downloaded and ready to install. I keep saying "install later" since that is the only other option besides, "install now". I have saved root using Voodoo OTA rootkeeper, and have renamed "Upgrade.apk" to "upgrade.old" and still am getting the request to upgrade. I will stay on my rooted .605 stock Gingerbread, or one of the custom ROMs until someone comes up with a workaround to SBF out of .621.
Was Moto or Verizon responsible for our losing the ability to SBF? Just curious.

if you flash a custom rom, the update shouldnt install, if you sbf back to .602 then the update shouldnt install either, just dont take the OTA thinking it will put you on .605, cause it will surely move you to .621 and then your stuck, just install a rom from .602 and it will boost you to .605 :)

Your assessment is laughable.

I've not pre-rooted and re released it is because i'm tired of all the drama associated with helping. It seems that people are ungrateful and like to speak without knowing what they speak of. There are other methods to keep root so those can be used.
