Google could at least be a little more transparent on the matter if they did have to stall it for a fix. Just say, "Hey, we found something, we're working on it." That's just basic customer service. I kind of get the feeling they need to hire a few non-engineers there.
They will do what they have to to keep developers happy. N1 is a development platform. No worries. It will come, as will updates after 2.3.
My thoughts exactly! I think a good chunk of developers out there are using the Nexus One to use as the main device to develop their apps. Developers are not rich, so most may not be able to simply buy the Nexus S. I would think Google would make sure these developers are taken care of. They are the 'heart' of Android as without the apps, Android will only be half of what it is today.
That's why samsung sucks ...and why should we care abut the NS's problems ? Give us the update ...isn't the N1 a Google product any more ???
I am assuming you are talking about the SE Arc? If they took as long as they did to release the X10...it'd be half a year before it's released and by then...we'll be talking about HoneyIf another phone is released with Gingerbread before the N1 gets it OTA what advantage, other than Vanilla Android, is there for having the N1 then? It was supposed to get updates before other phones but if a non-Nexus phone is released with the newer version before the update comes down then that goes out the window. Right?

That was what they said for the X10...to be released in 3 months (announced in end Oct/Nov 2009)...it wasn't released until April 2010 >_>;;I'm just saying in general but yeah, the Arc is the next scheduled one to be released with 2.3, supposedly in March. I think we'll be talking about Ice Cream Sandwiches by the middle of the year anyway...![]()
Could this be the reason for the delay
Google admits to Nexus S call reboot bug
This is exactly what I think is happening. Until they can determine what is causing the Nexus S to reboot all over the place and fix it (or prove it isn't the Android OS's fault), they aren't going to risk releasing it for anyone else. I expect N1 will get gingerbread 3 days after NS gets a fix (to give NS users first crack at the OTA update servers).
I mean, wouldn't you be a little upset if they pushed the update and your phone started rebooting mid-call? I know I would be.
