dropped it already

Damn I dropped my phone and scuffed a corner:mad: already and I"ve only had it three weeks. This new phone is so slippery compared to my Droid X.

That's why I got the otterbox defender.haven't dropped it on a hard surface yet, but I'm sure I will at some point

It's not dropping the phone that worries me. It's dropping it in the toilet that petrifies me to death....since I've done it twice already.

When I'm near the throan, I keep two hands on it.:p

I was just looking under my truck and the phone slipped out of my pocket while i was laying on the ground. It scuffed up the corner quite a bit for a 3 inch fall to the driveway. Only had the phone about a month. Sucks that the case I ordered should be in tomorrow. I HAD TO DROP IT TODAY! Guess that's what I get for owning a Ford.

Lol. Didn't they say the RAZR/Maxx were suppose to be more water resistant than other phones? ;-)

I dropped mine twice from waist level during my first two weeks. Luckily, I had a hard case and holster on it. Then I read how people say the Razr has a fragile screen that crack after small drops, keeping it in your pants pocket, etc. and since then protect the phone like it's extremely fragile--no drops since.

No case here. Was walking down the street 2 weeks ago and took my phone out of my pocket to put it to my ear and right at the time it was reaching me shoulder level it went flying. Concrete pavement. No scratches, not damage. Pure luck.

Just like watches, water resistant isnt water proof. Now THAT would be awesome if they made it water proof, to at least two feet lol :-)

Lol. Ziploc baggies will work wonders. ;-) Actually growing up in Alaska that's basically all they used for the hand held VHF radios on boats. Pretty much a heavy duty Ziploc with a floatation piece attached so could still operate in the water. But you're right..be awesome if the phones could handle being under a few feet of water for a few minutes at least.

Did that on my un-backed up palm pilot. Loaded with 3 years of data.

OK...
How many of you use your razr while sitting on the throne?

I'm in my 'office' all the time sending out emails and stuff. Time on the throne is good time to get things done. Unfortunately, two years ago, I was taking care of business and put my DINC into my hoodie pocket, leaned over to restock the TP and blooooop...it goes right in. No hesistation on my part....I went in right after it (before flushing I might add).

I know how much that phone is worth. Unfortunately, the clock started ticking downwards the minute I retrieved the phone. After weeks of resuscitation (sealed bag, rice, etc.), the clock struck zero and I had to put it out of its misery.

Yes, whoever comes up with a waterproof case, without it being bulky, is going to make a lot of money.

Try not dropping your phone but getting a replacement phone with a razor cut on it! And that's after 7 replacement phones that had similiar issues! I just gave up and now live with a scratched up phone that I never even did!

Wait...fragile screen? Scuff marks from 3" off the ground? What's all this Gorilla Glass and Kevlar talk I keep hearing/reading about?
I could see me dropping my Razr real quick. My hands are barely big enough to go around it and I felt like I had very little control. Bought two Case-Mate Pop cases. Hard on the back, top and bottom with thick, textured sides (and a built in kickstand!) MUCH better :D

I've dropped my Razr Maxx a few times now. Each time my phone was protected by a case. If I want my phone to be light a easy to pocket carry, I use a silicone slip cover. But I usually use an Otterbox Defender case for ultimate protection of my investment.

BOOM, problem solved.
Liquipel waterproof phone coating tech demo (video)

There are videos on YouTube of the Razr working while underwater (and afterwards).
Maybe they have the Liquidpel applied :D
