Help Dropped LG optimus black in water

I dropped my LG Optimus Black in the toilet (Yes!), and I took it up immediatly afterwards, seperated the parts that could, and then dried it with a hairdryer (mostly cold air) - BUT afterwards when I turned on my phone 15 minutes later, the screen was not working. AND then I started searching the internet, and found out that one is not surppose to dry it with a hairdryer OR turn it on that quickly afterwards. I put in in rice now, but I am now wondering what the chances of recovery are?
And mostly, how can I save my pictures?
 
Phones take at least 48 hours to dry properly and turning it on before that can cause it to short out. But don't panic, many phones have been saved and yours still has a chance. Pretend it has just happened and do the following

Removes all covers and inserts e.g. cards, battery

Place in a warm dry area on a bed of uncooked rice like an airing cupboard for at least 48 hours. Do not place in source of direct heat.

Leave your phone alone for the 48 hours...do not try it out etc.

when initially wet placing the phone propped in path of a hairdryer for an hour or so on warm can help remove moisture...BUT the phone must be at least a foot away so the phone is only in area of warm dry air rather than actually being dried by the hairdryer.

Although the Rice trick is great advice, its too late to do anything on this phone now, but for next time...

I would advise against using a hairdryer. This is encouraging water to get to places it otherwise wouldn't have got. Room temperature, Bowl of rice, 24-48 hours.
 
The best way to save a wet phone is as follows:

1. Open the back and take out the battery IMMEDIATELY. If the water was not clean, rise all parts with clean water thoroughly for about 3 minutes.

2. Holding it firmly in your hand, move your arm in circles in order to centrifuge the water out of it. Repeat this process holding the phone in different positions to take most of the water out of the majority of the phone's cavities.

3. Leave the phone and the battery overnight under a heavy fan and over something that keeps 90% the bottom side from touching the surface beneath it.

4. The next two or three days: buy silica gel packs or get them from products that have them included, put all of the phone's parts inside a plastic bag with the packs, leaving the least amount of air inside, and seal the bag. The packs will absorb the rest of the water.
