Dual Core cricket hydro?

Dan_K

Lurker
I was at the cricket store today to buy a new smartphone. My old one broke and I had looked online at the various models, however when I got to the store, the Hydro was there even though it didn't show on the web site for me.

At any rate It was a professional looking display for the phone and one of the bullet items was

* 1ghz dual core snapdragon CPU.

So, seeing that, and a relatively new 4.0 os, I bought it. Now everything I've read online says that the hydro is a single core CPU, and I can't find mention of dual core anywhere else...

Anyone know what the deal is?

(Anyhow the store I bought from was the corporate cricket store in zip code 15203)

It's probably listed that way as a selling point. Someone sees "dual-core!" and assumes that it's good or better even though this is undoubtedly a lower end device.

On the Boost Mobile site, it says 1 GHz QUALCOMM Snapdragon Processor. The Cricket Site says the exact same thing: 1 Ghz Snapdragon

Well they have come out with a new version of the hydro .a cricket version it might be duo core I am not sure but the cricket version is made for better audio but over all Im sticking with my hydro rooted with cm 10.1

Did I miss something MAJOR???

How could you POSSIBLY have cm 10.1????? There isn't even a recovery for they hydro... either I'm completely in the dark or you are very confused.

There's a custom recovery for cricket version but it doesn't work as you would think it would see the boot loader is locked you have to find a way to unlock it I just used ROM manager and it succeeded for me

Hope this helps

This is news to me. I bought a Cricket Hydro two weeks ago. Dual core? As slow as it is its hard to believe. However, I have noticed that even when it gets slow or freezes up the Muve Music app doesn't seem to be effected. Is it possible there is a second core which is dedicated solely to the music player? We have already found that the Muve Music SD cards have a hidden partition that can't be reformatted. Dual core wouldn't surprise me but for the price, $99.00.

(Edit) BTW, custom recovery for Cricket version? Please share this with me.:)

Think someone is blowing smoke
very little difference in boost cricket or the other hydro
only minor software changes, same hardware

and all locked bootloaders.
no recoverys no roms

Oh and no dual cores either

Can you tell me witch ROM/kernel version you used if you did all that? I've recently rooted my hydro & I'm still using the stock ROM/kernel because I can't seem to find a straight answer any place online. I don't want to brick my device & I don't have the option of connecting it to a PC. I used poot to root it because I couldn't connect to PC. I want to change the kernel mainly so I can run a swap SD for ram app to increase the ram size. Does anyone know how to do this?

Where is this ROM at? The CM 10.1?

*Edit* I jumped to reply when I seen this and didn't take even the time to read the following post. Lol
