Dual Core Support

Hello! (:
When i first bought my sgs2 i've been told that Android OS ( 2.3.3 ) Doesn't support Dual core proccessor. Now I'm on HEBMIUI (2.3.5).
Now my OS support both cores?

Thanks,
Guy.

2.3.5 definitely suports dual core. To be honest I thought 2.3.3 did. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure mine came with 2.3.3 installed. Seems strange for a dual core phone to come preinstalled with an os that doesn't support it.

I think it is so obvious that preinstalled software should support dualcore... Never wondered bout this... but maybe thats just my ignorance ;) im still on 2.3.4 but moving to 2.3.5 soon, just trying to decide which new rom should i give a go :)

I would be quite shocked to find out that 2.3.4 (possibly .3, can't really remember if it was preinstslled) didn't support dual core. How did my gs2 benchmark so far ahead (using cfbench designed for dual core phones) than other phones on the market? I could be wrong as I usually am but it makes no sense to me.

AFAIK Gingerbread doesn't fully support multi-core. Certain apps in particular show this, such as the browser. That's why Honeycomb tablets score much higher than Gingerbread phones in sunspider despite often having similar hardware.

Honeycomb and Ice cream sandwich will support dual core, as far as I remember the gingerbread kernels have SMP support but the middle-ware isn't *fully* compliant, some aspects may be there but not in it's entirety.
