Dual Core

I was reviewing the new 4G phones being offered soon. What is the advantage of dual core? I see HTC does not offer them, but motorola does. I love the HTC software over motorola. Just curious. Thanks

There is a claim of 11 hour battery life while browsing wifi I heard in the motorola interview yesterday.

Advantages are better battery life (I doubt 11 hours better.. but, generally better than a single core 2 ghz processor for sure).

More powerful multitasking. 2 cores doing 2 different things is better than one core trying to do 2 things at once.(HORRIBLE EXPLAINATION, YES I KNOW BUT, WE ARE KEEPING IT SIMPLE).

More power for multithreaded applications.

Now.. I am just overly concerned maybe..

But, I would highly advise you to either A. be aware there could be some huge problems with the first generation multi core processors in phones.

Or B. at least not be surprised if it over heats or has quirky problems..

Actually there's the HTC Thunderbolt (Incredible HD), the first in line of the Dual Core phones.

My reading of the thunderbolt is that it is not dual core..
