Help Dual G-mail Apps

Being new to the Droid phone I need help on how to fix this issue please.

I have a Moto Droid Razr

MY issue is that I have the Gmail app installed. For what ever reason it does not allow me to create outgoing email. When I use the email app that comes on the phone that means that I get the same emails twice, once in the standard email app and the Gmail app.

How can I delete the Gmail app?

Am I doing something wrong?

Just go into settings and select accounts. Disable Gmail sync.

What I see in Accounts/Settings I find three what I take to me accounts as they all show my Gmail account name. What do you suggest here?

Go to your Google account and disable things you don't want to sync to tour phone. Gmail is in that account as well. That should stop the dual notifications. Report back if that solves your issue.
