Help dual time zone

gregy

Lurker
android phone selects and displays dual time zone correctly when roaming - all good
however huawei watch when selecting dual time watch face always shows Lon time zone as the
second zone (along with correct local zone)

q: is there any setting? to get watch to correctly display? is this a bug?
doesntbappear to be any way to manually select the second time zone for watch,
and logically it should follow the android phone (also a huawei mate S - which is correctly showing
a second time zone ... eg home and roaming time zones)

note even when at home, with second time zone enabled (eg both the same) the watch still
shows Lon as second time zone .
I have tried restart of both, resync of apps, bluetooth on/off.... , toggle dual clock on/off in phone settimgs
... nothing can budge London!

Hi @gregy !

I just got my Huatch the other day so I'm still trying to figure things out, but I think that if you long-press on the watchface to access the face picker and then press the little Settings gear icon below the current face you should then be able scroll through the list to pick the appropriate second time zone.

I just wish some of the other stock Huawei faces were configurable - some of them I'd love with different color options.

thanks, this fixed the problem.
i didnt before notice the setting cog .. as its only available on very few of the faces (only dual face. )
and yes this allows time zone selection ... albeit from a long clumsy list ...
logically it should follow the dual time zone on the android phone... (given that the
watch time "main zone" auto follows the phone clock)
I guess these things will improve over time as the android gear watch OS evolves ...

I don't believe the dual time zone setting is available on stock Android devices (Nexus, etc), but is a feature added by Huawei. And while manufacturers are prohibited from tampering with Android Wear in any way, it does seem a bit odd that Huawei couldn't implement dual-time synching between the Huawei clock app on a Huawei phone and the Huawei watchfaces on the Huawei Watch. :D After all, they do just that with the Huawei fitness apps on the Huatch and the Huawei Wear fitness app on the phone. :thumbsupdroid:
