Duplex printing with Cloud Print?

Prior to the release of KitKat, the Google Cloud Print app in the Play Store supported duplex printing. Then came the Nexus 5 and KitKat, with the printing feature baked into the OS - but it didn't support duplex printing. When Google finally updated the Play Store Cloud Print app post-KitKat, it too was missing support for duplex printing. What gives? Any ideas on why this would be removed, or when we can expect to see duplex printing supported again in Cloud Print?

It's things like this that make me think many Google engineers live in a bubble, where things that are common sense to the rest of the world don't even exist.

Does your printer manufacturer make an Android printer app that supports its duplex printers?

Yes, Brother makes an app - Brother iPrint&Scan - that works similar to the old Cloud Print app - you share something to the app and then can print it. Their app does support duplex printing. You can also open files for printing from within the app. But I still find it frustrating and perplexing when functionality is lost as a result of an update. It's the main reason I keep archived copies of my installed apps - so I can revert when I feel an update has degraded the experience.
