Help Duplicate Contacts in SMS, but not in regular Address book

I have the HTC EVO 4G 3D phone through Virgin Mobile. I went through the contacts and deleted what I didn't want, and I linked everyone to Facebook if they have a fb account. It was really easy. Then, I went to send out a text SMS, and there are contacts and phone numbers that are not in my address book. My cousin has two numbers listed through SMS but only one in the address book. I went to google, and deleted EVERYTHING-all contacts and phone numbers, in case this was the cause of the issue, but I'm still having the problem. I don't even have the option, through SMS, to delete people or extra numbers. HELP!!

Check your Display Options:
Look at your "Choose contacts to display setting. Sometimes it may depend on how your contacts are set up on the device, if you have multiple accounts assiciated with the device with contacts on both.

Rico-I did what you mentioned, and it seemed to work. However, there were missing contacts. I had to reinstall a bunch of contacts. I love the phone but I can't deal with this. Any suggestions?
