Duplicate contacts when syncing S3

Hello! I just received my S3 yesterday, after upgrading from the Epic - so I am not a stranger to the Android system. However, it seems anytime I try to sync my Facebook to my regular contacts, it creates two separate contacts in my contact list - Annoying!! I've tried going to the regular contact on my phone, and hit "join contact" to the facebook contact (as I did with my previous phone). I get a message that pops up saying "contacts joined", however, when I go back to my contact list - i still have two separate contacts! How can I change this?? I basically just want profile pics to sync for my contacts, I don't care about any of the other info (statuses, etc). I've read in forums to use an app called "syncmypix" ... but I cannot find this in the play store.
