duplicate contacts

I'm not sure you can filter by phone number automatically.
However, if you access your gmail contacts online, create a new group (there's a button for it on the left hand side of the page), then move all the contacts with phone numbers into that group and save.
Go back to your handset and perform a contact sync. Once completed, go into the people view, hit the menu button, then select view. Hit the arrow next to google contacts and you'll get options of what to display. Just untick all apart from the new group you created and it should only be the contacts with phone numbers that display.
