Help Duplicate contacts

I have a Samsung S5 and today I have noticed there are 45,000 contacts which are all duplicates of my original contacts.

I'm syncing from linked in and facebook so perhaps there is a loop happening but can anyone assits with the clean up?

In the contacts app, go to settings then contacts to display. Check/uncheck as necessary.

If the duplicates appear in your Google (Gmail) contacts, you can get rid of duplicates by logging into Gmail online with a computer, go to Contacts, click on More, then in the drop-down list click Find and merge duplicates. Resync to the phone.
