Help Duplicate SMS Texting errors

Both my wife and I seem to be getting duplicate SMS texting errors on our SK4Gs. the same message will arrive sometimes DOZENS of times. It seems like the phone isn't sending the right signal to the T-Mobile server that the SMS Text Message has been received. (Thankfully I have an unlimited TXT plan.)

I troubleshooted with on-line Chat and they said to try SIM Card in another phone at a local T-Mobile store and if the problem still happens, it is a network problem, if not, it is a Phone problem. I did. No Duplicates.

Odd that when I send a text message to myself, there are no duplicates.

Store Rep said next step would be a MASTER RESET of the phone before they would do a warranty exchange.

Is anyone else having this issue. Any suggestions on any system tweaks that can be used to solve the issue?

Since the issue statrted, I upgraded to GeekSMS and still get the same problem.

Im thinking i may get the phone today and if i have the same issues, ill let you know. I would just do the master reset and see if it fixes it. The only thing that can come from that is a WIN! You either A-stop getting duplicates (win) or B-Get a new phone (win). :-)

I am juist concerned about contacts, apps, & settings being lost. just getting the thing where i like it. What actaully DOES get removed with a Master Reset? and what is back-up-able beforehand??

I have this SAME EXACT problem with my SK4G so I am assuming it is a software issue and not a hardware issue, I don't see the need for a phone replacement, a hard reset or software update should do the trick.

I was in a 4G area this weekend - the problem stopped. when I went back to my home area (EDGE) the problem returned.

From the original messaging app, click MENU, Settings, scroll down to "Delivery Reports", add a Check in the Check Box.

I personally use GeekSMS (free from the Market-I like the color schemes better). From here, i click MENU, Settings, scroll down to "SMS and MMS Settings", select "Delivery Reports" under SMS (and again under MMS, if needed), add a Check in the Check Box.
