Duplicate Updates in the Android Market

Is anyone else getting what appears to be duplicate update notifications in the market?

This has been happening to me for the last 2 days for Astro File Manager, and Panda Home.

I have the latest versions installed. Yet the market tells me there's an update available. When I look at the version number of the update, it's the same as what I have...and when I install it, the version numbers wind up being the same.

Is this really an issue, or are the authors really throwing new apk's up there with the same version number? Or is there some 'minor' version number they're updating that isn't visible to me, and there really are small tweaks in the update?

Curious if anyone has seen multiple updates for these in the last few days, and whether anyone knows what's really going on.

Btw, I'm on 2.0.1, as pushed from verizon...didn't force update.

Thanks,
Joe

Exactly the same problem since the 2.0.1 update, which may just be coincidence. I get basically repeated notifications of an update (by browsing my download at the market place), even though I just updated. Usually the notifications are a day apart.

That's exactly what I see...usually a day apart. That's why I suspect maybe it really is an update. Or, why would it take that long to show up as an update.

Are you seeing updates on the same apps that I listed, or is it happening to you with other apps? If it's happening over a whole range of apps, then I'd start to believe it's a 2.0.1 issue. The likelyhood of that many apps being tweaked within a day or two is small.

Initially I also assumed a normal update - it might still be. Also seen it with Astro and Panda. I thought i'd seen it with other apps, but don't really remember. I'll keep an eye out and post additional apps.
