Good find. However, I don't think that Dvorak is that much superior than QWERTY. Sure, I learned to touch type in a matter of less than a month, and became a faster typist using Dvorak, but that's only because we never really were taught to touch type with the QWERTY in school.

This is one of the reasons I haven't made the move yet. But I've read about people switching back and finding much more strain...

If I often make typos, could changing the layout help me in any way?

QWERTY was designed to slow people down. The keys were positioned on purpose so that you have more instances where you need to use the same finger for consecutive letters than a random layout. Dvorak was designed so that there were fewer instances where you need to use the same finger to type consecutive letters. On a QWERTY keyboard, typing the word, "paced" requires using the same finger for "ced". Typing "angle" does not use the same finger. A person trained to type the standard way with all fingers on a QWERTY keyboard will be able to type "angle" more quickly than "paced". For these particular examples, typing both words on a DVORAK keyboard requires 5 different fingers for each letter. In the long run, you should be able to type more quickly on a DVORAK because there are just fewer instances where you need to type consecutive letters with the same finger.
