Help Dynamic Notification & S-View Flip Case problem

I use Light Flow for the blinking light text notification. However, with my new S-View Flip Case, I no longer see the blinking light :(

So, I want to use Dynamic Notification for the lock screen text notification.

In Dynamic Notification setup I can't get the custom screen time out or breathing notification time to work right?

I tried almost everything to get the custom screen time out or breathing notification time to work?

Turned off Lightflow, gave Dynamic Notification permissions where needed such as in Security etc.

Dynamic Notification screen comes on when I get a text message for 5 seconds, then doesn't come back on for 2 minutes?

I have Custom Screen Time Out set for 15 seconds (turns off after 5 seconds no matter what I set it for)

I have Breathing Notification set to repeat every 30 seconds (comes on every 2 minutes no matter what I set it for)

Played with settings for three hours last night and gave up... what am I doing wrong?

Oh yeah, I paid $1.99 for the premium version too.

never used that app.
Not likely that I will as I don't want the screen using up battery.

My situation is the phone is hidden from view all the time in my shirt pocket, I can't see the thing anyway.

I just set the ringer tone, and the SMS message tones bright and sharp!
I don't care who else likes or dislikes the way it sounds.

The reason I have to have that program and Light Flow is because I have a 95% hearing loss in one ear, 100% gone in the other, BUT my lipreading skills are near 100%, so face to face, I'm fine. My speech is quite good for my level of deafness too. So I don't hear phones ringing nor can I hear anything on the phone. ;)

I use the phone for text mail, email, to go online, show my photo's to customers etc. I already have an extra battery if I ever need it during the day.

jack58, I can fully relate to your situation.
I was born totally deaf at birth. At about age 8 a very good doctor used me for a guinea pig to try a new radical procedure to "repair the inner ear" structure on both ears. He was successful and gave me hearing that over the years approached "normal" in sensitivity, but has a lot of "frequency dropouts", and with my youth now 71 years behind me, is dropping off again. Also have tinnitus in both ears, ringing tones that are as loud as normal voices.

I too did lip reading in my early years but have lost that ability.

That's great they could fix that. Mine is nerve damage from the flu at age 2 with a week of 105 degrees. Almost killed me. Can't fix that. Over the years, I learned to love silence. Your spotting me ten years. :)

I think I found the problem. It is conflicting with the new S-View Flip Case program that turns on the screen. When the flip case is open, DN works as it should irregularly within 5 seconds of times I set. With flip case closed it is irregular, sometimes comes right on and stays on or comes right on, goes off in 5 seconds, then stays off for 3-4 minutes. Lately the lock screen window with the flip closed just stays on. Works within 5 seconds of what I have set if the flip is open.
This is the case I just got: Can't return it.

Well, it looks like I solved my own problem above. :)
I got this email from the Dynamic Notification Developer this morning:
Hi Jack,

this sounds indeed like the reason for the issue. I checked out the product description of the flip-case, and it says that the case puts the phone to sleep when the case is closed, and wakes it up when the case is opened again. This sounds like the case puts the phone into a “deep sleep” where DN can’t properly operate. I’m afraid there’s not much I will be able to do about this, as the flip-cover overrides everything else :-(!

Best regards,
Nick

So for those of you who buy the flip case, Dynamic Notification won't work correctly.
Nor will it work with Light Flow as the flip cover covers the LED part.
This is something Samsung needs to work out with the S-View Flip case is made by them and they have the LED there for a reason, to be used.
I like the flip case, so I will work around it a while. I have another case in mind anyways.
When it is in my pocket, I don't see the notifications anyways, just the vibration.
When I have it out on my desk or by my notebook, I'll simply leave the flip cover open with my stylus lying on top of it. That works for me. Dynamic Notification works really well, especially the paid premium version.
