I am reading on a few android controls namely the drawer because I would like to implement a menu in my program similar to the gmail app. The drawer slides out when touched and slides back when dismissed. While reading I android document I came accross a line which said that the items in the list are static and cannot be changed dynamically.
This is the idea for my app. I am going to use the example.
However I am confused by this because
A) Isn't the drawer just a listview of values?
B) I have an program where when I click one value in my listview it drills down to another coming from a database.
Is it really impossible to refresh the data source or to load a brand new xml layout once I have clicked "milky way". More over I have done little apps with list view and on click loads a separate listvirw with other items. So if a drawer is simply a drawer layout with a listview in it. Why is the behavior of dynamically changing the items not possible ?
Or if i interpenetrated this wrong, please correct me thanks.

- User clicks the drawer icon, drawer with Milky Way Galaxy and Andromedia Galaxy comes up
- User Clicks Milky Way"
- The drawer now displays "Solar System" (this comes from an sql_lite3 database
- User clicks Solar system in the drawer
- List of planets in our solar system is displayed.
