It's a better mystery than "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" The bike problem consumes countless hours of inner contemplation. 🤣
I now have a spare bike. I enjoy riding the RipCurrent S more than the Aquila but I'll not be without a ride so I'm not sweating it. There is a chance that I'll stumble upon the culprit. In the meantime, I'll continue to ride and observe. I'll follow suggestions and experiment on my own.
And.... I'll continue to type out my thoughts here in hopes that expressing my theories might lead to a solution. You are very kind to care and to be supportive. And most of all a good friend who keeps a hand on my shoulder. Thanks!

I was in the a/c business for too many years ....
How many times I heard, " well it quit working last night but seem to be ok today" or " it quit making that funny noise right after I called you" or any other malady that was not happening at the time I was there.
I would tell the customer, " I can not fix it if it is not broke !" "it is working fine and making cold air, I can not improve on that !"

A total failure could be traced. Random lulls in power while I'm riding.. not so much.
I mowed five lawns and then managed a short ride. I was by myself on my loops even though it was fairly nice. It reached the mid seventies but it was windy from the South. I probably experienced a dozen short power outages in my 25 miles riding. It felt great to be riding.

The problem here is when it is hot the humidity is unbearable. I am going to go out to the garage and attempt to work on the switch project.
The weather man said if I wait till Sat and Sun, it will me cooler from the front moving in.

It's normally pretty arid here. I remember as a youth, the family traveled to Louisiana to visit relatives. Dad, grandad, uncle and I went to a beautiful golf course and played a round. I couldn't hardly breath. I was drenched in sweat. My clothes were soaked. I smelled like a mule. I hate high humidity!!!
I went riding once I had my lawns serviced. It was pretty darn windy from the South and it is to be worse tomorrow. My back was hurting so I only rode 25 miles. I passed a young couple with nice road bikes wearing bike attire. They saw me coming and made a single lane on the right so I could pass. They didn't seem to be in any hurry and were riding against the wind. I wasn't in a hurry either but I overtook them and passed them without any effort. It was fun riding today though I was in pain.
It was way too windy to ride today, just as predicted. The chances or riding tomorrow aren't any good either. I'll have to wait and see but it is supposed to be considerably cooler, high fifties, and windy. 
March is suppose to out like a lamb but not this year. It keeps being very windy. It has warmed up but it supposed to cool back down toward the weekend. Today I made up my mind I was going to ride.
Just one loop to the town South was enough wind in my face to last a while. I rode some more once I got back into town. There was at least the houses and trees to slow the wind down a bit. I logged 31 miles total today. It felt good to ride though the wind tried to spoil it. The ride today took the odometer over the twenty two thousand mile mark. I put 1.5K on my first Juiced bike, 1.5K on the Aquila, and 22K on the RipCurrent S. 25K total which is basically the circumference of the Earth at the equator. 🤣

So my ingenuity on the switch did not work ... at all !
Next step is to pull the tank and seat off and find where all that plugs into the main harness and make sure the new parts, I have bookmarked to buy, will fit.

Don't you just love a good project? Good luck! My bike power cutting out is getting a bit more frequent and the outages are lasting longer. It's a great puzzle.
I did ride today though it was pretty windy. There was just a thirty minute lull in the wind while it changed from the South to North. I managed to log 32 miles and enjoyed the ride. I shared my loops with nobody today. I did see an e-bike while I was out mowing this morning. It had a brand logo painted on the down tub that housed the battery I couldn't make out. It was a classy looking white bike and had an elderly man riding it. I bet he enjoys his new bike.
Speaking of a new bike. I stopped at the grocery store on my way home and grabbed a package of chili seasoning that I needed for dinner. As I was getting ready to leave, a man walked by on his way into the store and asked me how I liked my e-bike. Being in love with my bike I proceeded to tell him just what the bike and riding meant to me. He was more than idly interested and the more we talked the more curious he was. He was a retired rider for lack of a good place to ride and... he was at an age where it was more work than fun. One thing lead to another and I offered to let him take the bike for a ride around the parking lot. I told him... you will always be grateful for this opportunity and you will blame me for your e-bike purchase. 🤣
Not aware there was a throttle, he took off with the heavy bike on his pedals. Then off he flew as he proclaimed OH WOW! When he came back he had the same smile I had the first time I rode one. He said he had no idea that the assistance would react to his effort. What a feeling!! I explained that there was a thumb throttle to get started and to help clear an intersection. I also informed him that there were three higher levels of assist above what the bike was set at. He was blown away. He'll be buying one. I told him that I rode my son's after helping put it together and came home and ordered mine. He nodded his head and said he understood.
I hope so. I told him the loop I ride. Not that it is exciting but it is interesting for a few times. It definitely gets old but is the most safe ride around here. It's a good nine miles of mostly uninterrupted travel once you get to the loop. I could see he was taking mental notes.
I rode today after I finished my mowing. It was a bit cloudy and a bit cool. There was a possibility of rain but it certainly didn't look threatening. What the day really had going for it was the wind was barely blowing. I rode up the battery I rode with the last two days. Monday I was out of battery after 31 miles. Yesterday I was out of battery after 32 miles. Today, with low wind velocity, I was out of battery after 40 miles. Wind is a drag..... literally.
I had a lot of fun riding today. Today was first time I went riding, since my trip to California in early January, that didn't hurt my back. Using the string trimmer to trim and groom my lawns hurt my back as per usual. When I started to ride, I anticipated needing to make some stops to stretch to ease the back pain. I had no pain. It was wonderful! I had no company on my forty mile ride today.
Thursday is my big mow day so it was late when I went riding. The weather was nice without much wind so it was great riding. Between my back hurting bad and needing to get home to prepare dinner, I only rode 22 miles. After dinner, what little wind that was blowing earlier had quit. It was just too nice to sit in the house so I geared up and went riding again. I rode until it was nearly dark and called it a day. My back didn't bother me at all the second ride. I logged 28 miles of pure fun my second time out.

Yup, had to have the yard guy do my yard last week, trees across the street in the park are blooming, and the grass is growing again !
I always look forward to the grass growing but not the trees blooming. I never struggled with allergies until after my heart attack. Now, this time of year, my nose is a constant drip. I went over seventy years without suffering so I have no room to complain.
It's cooler today and windy. I had thoughts of riding but it just isn't nice enough for me. Maybe I'll get in a ride tomorrow.

I'm really not one that feels like it's necessary to wash my car every weekend. It's the middle of April and my red Journey is orange.
Got into a pretty strong rain shower this afternoon and now it's red once more.
