E-Bikes

My buddy who is smaller in size than myself and I barely got the Harley on the drop gate trailer he brought to take it to the shop.

It weights a bit over 500 lbs and when it quits rolling it is a bugger to get started up hill again !

It has been raining pretty much since I got it back home, today is looking to be a good day for a ride if I can squeeze in the time.
That was the primary reason my good buddy bought my first Juiced bike. Not that he had a huge bike but it was too heavy for him in his senior years. He said he could no longer stand it up if he had to lay it down. My e-bike is easy enough to move or stand up but to dead lift it into my truck bed or the back of my wife's jeep is asking a lot of this old fart. Heavy and awkward....

It looks like I'm in for another nice day to ride. It's seventy now with a mid eighties predicted. I've got five to mow and then I'll hit the road.

I got in a decent ride this afternoon and a little ride after dinner. I logged 59 miles total. It was a little windier than it's been the last couple of days. It was still a good day to ride. Though school is out, I didn't see anyone riding the sidewalk today. I saw a jogger and a number of walkers.

The wheel guy left a fb message that he got a UPS price of $117 to ship or Bikeflight $75. I had never heard of bikeflight but it is a legit service for shipping bike and parts. They use UPS for transport. The guy wanted me to go online and purchase the shipping labels and then send him a link or a pic of the labels. It saved him the hassle and gave me the insurance I wasn't giving away more money. I tried to do the bikeflight thing online but it wanted a phone number for the guy. I messaged him my phone number and explained I couldn't create the label. About a half hour later he called me. My fears of a deal going bad vanished. He is a bike guy. He moved on when Juiced folded and has some parts that he's now selling. Anyway, he's a real nice guy that loves e-bikes and is very happy that I need and will use his wheel and motor. He was blown away by the miles I have on my bike. We traded bs bike stories. He's like me, very sad that Juiced didn't make it. He said he shopped and shopped and likes what he bought but it is not a RipCurrent S.

True to the wheel seller's word, he dropped the wheel off at a UPS store yesterday morning. Tracking information says it is scheduled for delivery Friday afternoon the 29th. I have never seen shipping that quick out of UPS. It is on it's way... that I believe.

I got in a couple of rides yesterday. I didn't go crazy either ride. My yards were hard work today and I worked in one extra yard scheduled for today. I had skipped the yard twice for lack of growth but it was looking pretty lousy when I drove by. I'm glad I did after it rained most of today. I logged sixty three miles yesterday on the Aquila. The bike gloves I bought really help but when my hand gets tacky with the heat, they are nearly impossible to take off. I ordered the exact glove in extra large that arrived after I went riding today. The large are comfortable but tight.

I saw a sight yesterday that put a smile on my face. It was a young man pushing a baby carriage. The humorous part was he wasn't walking. He was riding an e board of some sort. It was the one that has one big wheel in the middle similar to this:
images
What a crazy world we live in. The carriage might make the thing easier to ride. In my early adult bicycle riding days, I bought a unicycle at a garage sale. I tried everything I could think of to learn to ride it. I hadn't owned it very long until I took the seat post out of the bike and cut it off and drilled a hole so the rider would be much closer to the ground. It was a bad move. It was much easier to balance the higher you were. The point of this ramble is... I might have accomplished riding the unicycle if I had a stroller or something that moved with me. As it was, I had to give up my aspirations of joining the circus. 🤣

After the rain today I went riding. I rode up one battery and called it a night. I logged 35 miles. I saw a middle aged couple riding traditional bikes and the elderly lady on her trike on the sidewalk. It was a nice evening to ride. There was no wind but there was water standing in all of the low spots.

I mowed my Thursday lawns today. I had to mow slow so as not to tear a hole in the yards when I turned. I'm glad it rained but it sure makes mowing more difficult. I went riding when I was done and had just finished my second loop when my wife text me saying my bike wheel was delivered and she was able to sign for it. I came home and put on some work clothes and removed the old and installed the new wheel assembly. It took a bit of care to get the brake aligned on the new rotor and get the spacing to the sensor correct. We had a dinner date planned with our son and his wife tonight so I didn't get to ride but just a minute. It was easy to see that the motor is ready for action. I'm very happy. I put the bike up after two miles, grabbed a shower and out to dinner we went. I tried to ride again when we got home but it started raining on me before I was a block away from home. I rode around the block and put the bike back up. I'll ride tomorrow.

On my two loops on the Aquila I saw a couple of riders. It was very humid but there wasn't much wind which made for some good riding. I wore my new extra large gloves. I think I'll like them. They feel about the same as the large pair while wearing but they are big enough at the wrist that I can fasten the velcro catch. The best part is I can actually take them off without a struggle.

I have officially put over 2K on the Aquila since its purchase the first of November 25.
There were a few pleasure miles in there but most of the miles where logged while I was having issues with the RCS. I'm glad I had the bike to ride and it has served me well without issues. Between the two bikes, I have averaged riding over 25 miles every day since the 9/1/23.

I might try working on my son's RCS. Though he and his wife love their bikes, they don't ride them much at all. They likely have less than a thousand miles on their two bikes combined. My son had less than two hundred miles on his RCS when the motor started cutting out. Juiced sent him a new rear wheel assembly. Just like the one I installed on my bike today. Juiced paid for the wheel to be professionally installed and the bike shop that I had my previous motor spoked into my wheel did the swap. His motor is cutting out again. I'm guessing the sensor spacing isn't correct. It has to be exactly right or it's wrong. I might not be able to fix it but I've learned a lot on how that bike works. I at least offered my time.

It was rather hot and muggy today and a bit on the windy side. I went riding. And then I went riding again. I'm happy to report that my bike is officially fixed. The motor worked flawlessly over 86 miles. I saw an improvement in my mileage per charge as well. I'm thinking that the difference is the lighter factory tire vs the heavy tire I've been running. The heavy tires have worn well but I can't say they have saved me some flats. The frequency of flats seemed the same with both tires. I might as well run the lighter tires. I'll likely put the front tire that I saved back on the bike so the tires will match. It wasn't worn out like the original back tire and now it is a perfect match to the new back tire. There are still things the bike needs but nothing stopping it. The front fork has a shock which is nice but it is worn out. I'm not sure if it can be repaired or the entire front fork has to be replaced. I'm not going to worry about it. My brakes are nearing replacement stage again. It's a pain to do but very doable by anyone. The bearings on the original pedals are still good. That's amazing considering that I'm always pedaling. However, they have short spikes around the perimeter of the brake to keep the foot from sipping off. After 24,000 miles, those spikes are just shiny spots. I will likely opt for some new pedals before too many more miles. When I get my first flat on the new tire, I'll install a tire liner while I have the tire off the wheel. I have the liner and had intended to put it in the front tire when I got a flat. That flat has never happened.

I was surprised I didn't see more cyclists today. I saw my buddy Tim, the e-trike guy my first loop this morning. I saw a couple of other riders during the day. Traffic was pretty sparce for a warm Saturday. There were some joggers and a couple of walkers and a couple of cyclists and that was it.

I'm anxious to ride again tomorrow. That bike is so much fun when I'm not worried about it quitting me. It could be more responsive if I were to put the upgraded controller back on the bike. I fear I'll encounter the same problem as before... the wire from the controller to the sensor is short. The last thing I want to do is mess up another sensor. It's responsive now and damn robust. Just adding back the tail light and brake light would be sweet. I'll ride for a while before I flirt with messing up what I've got going.

I don't hear it but I don't ride with my hearing aids. My wife said that she can't hear it. I ride up behind people walking and they can't hear it. It, is the sound of the bike or specifically the motor. I think it must be out of the human frequency range. Dogs hear it and it drives them nuts. They tug at their leashes and often to the surprise of the pet owner. I meet a guy walking his big dog now and then that he grabs the dogs collar and all but lays on the dog while it is desperately trying to get away and attack me. It's sort of scary, actually. I avoid all dogs, and when I can, I will take a different route to eliminate disturbing them. Today was a new but similar experience. I was riding the highway siding . It is a state highway so there is almost room for another four lanes in both ditches. A man was riding a horse between the highway and the owned properties. I never thought about it but it's likely a pretty good place to exercise your horse. Sadly, the horse heard my bike approaching from behind. It reared its head and made a violent turn to see what was making the noise. The rider, a middle aged man, was almost thrown from the horse. Being a skilled horseman, he was able to rein the horse in as I rode by. I hollered that I was sorry. The horse and rider were easily twenty five yards off the highway and about the same in front of me when the horse heard my bike. It must be damn disturbing and loud.

I rode this morning before it got really hot and really windy. I saw at least a half dozen cyclists out riding. It wasn't on the sidewalk South but on my road I cut through the last neighborhood to get to the sidewalk, I saw what looked like brand new e-trikes. They were being ridden by an older couple but not ancient like myself. The trikes were identical except they were different color from one another. Both the man and the woman waved and were wearing big smiles. It was fun to see. I also saw Tim the trike guy heading South on the highway siding as I was riding North completing my first loop. I don't know his exact route but he eventually makes the same circle as I make but in the opposite direction. I saw him again as I was heading South on the sidewalk as he was finishing his loop. It's always good to see the guy.

I had an appointment at noon to deliver an antique table I worked on for my daughter in law. It was four foot long, five leg table that was used in entryways or along a parlor wall many years ago. She had bought the table at a garage sale but the legs needed some serious attention. The delivery ended up being a couple of beers worth of visiting on the patio which cut into my riding.

I came home and started my dinner smoking and went riding for an hour. After dinner I went riding again. It had gotten pretty hot, windy, and very humid. The weather eliminated all traffic on the sidewalk. There was plenty of daylight left when I ran low on battery. Instead of grabbing another battery, I grabbed a shower. I logged 70 miles today.

I went riding after I cooled down and relaxed for a bit after my lawns were mowed. Though it was windy, I was able to get 45 miles out of my best battery. I did see a few other riders in my four loops. I found a 3/8 drive extension today. I've never seen one this short. I thought at first it was 3/8 to 1/4 or 1/2... it's that short. It might be around an inch total length. As I was riding my cool down loops in town, I saw a dead branch fall out of a tree and onto a truck parked in the street. How random is that?

I rode again after dinner. It was still hot but the wind had died down. I only saw one other bike on the sidewalk and it was in the town South. Two girls, likely younger than middle school age, were both on the same bike and not pedaling. They were having fun... that's the name of the game.

I've put 237 flawless miles on the new motor. I think I can safely say that the bike is fixed. I know I can say that I'm having fun. The weather hasn't been the greatest bike weather but it hasn't ruined my enjoyment of riding a great running bike. I rode an additional 36 miles this evening.

Over a third of an inch of rain fell early this morning. It looked like there was far more on the way but it decreased in intensity and pretty much broke up and missed me. Anyway, with the rain, I was late to start mowing and late to start riding. I rode again after dinner and managed to log a total of 70 miles. It was muggy and windy early but the evening ride was cooler and had very little wind. I passed one bike rider this afternoon. I saw a couple of joggers and dog walkers but only the one guy on a bike.

I don't know what the deal is, as soon as school was over, road construction crews were all over town. They are attacking the residential streets. They aren't in the best of shape and it's likely time for the maintenance. The work is messing up my bike route. A road I always cross is closed. The road I cut though town to continue my loop was closed today and I have a feeling it will be closed a while. One of the roads I use on my in town cool down loops is all messed up. They have removed a lot of the gutters and drive approaches and pouring new. It looks like they plan to remove and then repave that street. I mow two lawn in that construction area. I suppose it will be vastly improved when completed but right now the construction is a huge pain.

I received my first socket set as an 8th grade graduation gift from my father in 1966. I've added other sets and specific additional pieces through the years. I have yet to have a need for the extension I found yesterday.

The last couple of days, my leg muscles have been sore. They are just on the verge of cramping. If I was to stand on the ball of either foot, I'm sure it would induce a cramp.
I drink around ten ounces of electrolyte every night. I'm convinced it helps with cramping. I told myself that I would ride a little less aggressively and fewer miles last night as I was rubbing my leg muscles. Today.. is a new day. My legs felt great today so I rode like normal. Actually, I logged few more miles than yesterday :) I'm an addict!
Though the radar didn't show rain, there were a lot of dark clouds here and there when I rode this afternoon. It sprinkled on me a couple of times and I rode about a block of wet road on my first return loop. I logged zero rain at my station and it had no effect on my riding. It might have kept some of the other riders home. I saw no one riding or walking on the sidewalk. I did see a bunch of boys riding bikes in the town South. They looked like a swarm of bees. They were all riding e-bikes.. the moped sort, in the parking lot of the Taco Bell. I saw a similar bunch there last summer.
My ride this evening felt great. It had cooled down and the wind had died down. It made for some great riding conditions. I still didn't see anyone riding. They missed a great evening to be out. I logged 73 miles today. That's basically 380 miles on the new motor. It is working great! No wonder my legs are sore... that's 76 miles a day since the new motor was installed.

I had a lot to mow today. When I got home, I found the parts that I ordered to fix my flagpole had been delivered two days early. I'm anxious to get my flag aloft so I decided I would dive into the repair. I had just started the project when it started to rain. Then came a regular down pour. It rained 1.12" at my house. After the rain, I once again started my flagpole repair. Once it was complete, I put it back into its mounting hole, hung the flag, and hoisted the pole sections. One section refused to lock into place. I pulled it back out of the hole and worked on it again but had no luck. I gave up and had a sandwich for dinner. I'll work on it again tomorrow when I'm not so frustrated.

I went riding after my late sandwich. I rode fast and hard and had to put the bike up when darkness set in. I logged 21 miles but it was a fun ride. I seldom ride pushing me and the bike that hard. I didn't see anyone riding and only a couple walking tonight. It was a nice evening and I was in a far better mood after getting out and enjoying some of it.

It didn't work out for any riding yesterday. I repaired my flagpole in the morning and then mowed my river property. I had a mower tire that had a slow leak and I lacked a means to patch it. It was a matter of mow some and inflate... rinse and repeat until I was finished. I was late getting home and my son came over and we hung out until dark.
I hope to get to ride today. We have a birthday party to attend this morning or I'd be on my bike. There is a potential of rain this afternoon which might well interfere with my plans to ride on our return. We shall see.

The party was fun. Special time with the great grandkids is hard to beat. I went riding after we got home. The weather looked a bit threatening but I was determined to ride.
It sprinkled a time or two on me and then it rained. My station only logged .02" but I was pretty much soaked by the time I got home. I changed clothes and did my grocery shopping while it dried out and then went riding again. Between the two rides, I logged 71 miles.

I noticed my new back tire was low when I was leaving for my second ride. It was sitting at eight pounds and I had inflated it to twenty six pounds last Saturday after I installed it on the bike. Not knowing if it has been slowly leaking or if I had punctured the tube on my first ride, I rode around town a couple of times and checked the pressure. It was a pound short. I aired it up again and rode around town again and checked it. It was fully inflated. I next rode one loop to the town South and checked it.
It was still showing twenty six pounds so. I rode two more loops and a couple more in town loops and came home to fix dinner. I'll know tomorrow if I have a repairable leak.
I hate slow leaks.

There was light rain on and off in my area until mid afternoon. I spent my time patching the tube that was spike a couple of weeks ago. I pulled the back wheel off of the RCS and brought it in to work on it. It wasn't flat but it was very low. I found I had picked up a staple on my first ride yesterday. I patched the tube and took the opportunity to install the Mr. Tuffy liner I bought two or three years ago to put in my front wheel when it had a flat. That never happened so it's now in the new back wheel. I now have three spare tubes that have all been patched at least once. I ordered a new heavy duty tube. I'll install it my next flat. The factory tube that came in the wheel is pretty much a wimpy tube.

I went riding this afternoon. It was heavily misting here and there but not a show stopper. My second loop South it was again misting and worsened the closer I got to the town South. By the time I gave up making the intersection of the sidewalk and the State highway, I was soaked. I turned around and rode North on the Sidewalk. When I got back into my town, I had completely rode out of the rain and the sun was shining. That's just how spotty the rain was. I rode a couple of loops in town to help dry my riding kit and came home to cook and eat. I rode again after dinner. It was muggy but with the breeze of cycling it was quite comfortable. There was a South wind that ate up some of my battery. I logged 63 miles today. I saw one other cyclists tonight. He and I both hit the sidewalk to state highway intersection at the same time. I turned to go North on the highway anticipating that he planned to go North on the Sidewalk. He turned to take the highway siding as well. We rode along beside each other for a short minute. We were going up the railroad overpass bridge and he was not on an e-bike. I wished him a good ride and picked up my cadence to my normal pace and left him shifting gears.

Here is my evaluation of my extra large riding gloves. The gloves are nice. They have gel pads where the hand meets the grips. Being well designed, they do what they were designed to do real well. My hands do not suffer going to sleep or that tingling sensation at all while riding. They are easy to put on but they are difficult to take off. With the hand becoming a bit clammy, they are like painted on my hands. They are worth every bit of the hassle. I just wish the extra large fit my hands a bit better. It's obvious that they are made for a smaller hand and longer fingers. Too many years of carpenter labor took its toll on my hands. :)

(The above failed to post Sunday)

I hurt my back this morning while mowing. I went riding after my mowing was done but I called it after two loops and a cool down loop in town. I went riding after dinner.
My back felt much better and I was able to ride up a battery. Between the two rides I logged 63 miles. It was hot today and very muggy. My station said it felt like 110° when I went out riding the second time. I was pretty much drenched in sweat when I put the bike up. I rolled over the six hundred mile mark on the new motor. I'm super happy I got so lucky.

The tube I ordered yesterday was delivered today. When they said heavy duty, they weren't kidding. When I saw the box I thought maybe I bought two tubes. Nope.
It is easily four times thicker than the normal "heavy duty" tubes I've been buying.
If I can get it in my tire, it might not need any air. :)

I only mowed five today but with the recent rains there was a lot of grass to cut. I came home and added onto one of my downspouts to get the water out of my recently added rock bed/flower bed. I then came in, cooled down a bit, cleaned up a bit, and went riding. I rode 35 miles before dinner and 39 after. The weather wasn't ideal for riding. It was in the nineties with a double digit South wind and humidity in the sixties percent. I saw Tim the trike guy while I was driving between lawns this morning. He looked to be heading home. That's the only biker I saw all day. The weather is going to get worse for riding as summer really heats things up. Riders will have to suck it up or sit it out.

I went riding after mowing. The wind was just incredible and my back was killing me.
I rode one loop and called it. My back was feeling better and the wind had decreased into the low twenty mile per hour range so I tried riding again. I rode 52 miles between the two rides. Not bad considering how lousy the weather was. I logged a 35mph gust today and I saw feel like temps over the 104° mark. I saw nobody riding. I now have put over 700 miles on the new motor. I can safely say that it's real deal.

The wind was just terrible this morning. I spent half my mowing time chasing my hat. I went riding following the mowing, and oddly enough, the wind had changed direction. It's rare to ride against a North wind in the warm months of Kansas. In any event, I rode 37 miles battling the wind. I rode again after dinner and logged another 31 miles. The wind had calmed almost to a stop this evening. It was cooler and the humidity was far lower. It made for fantastic riding. I hated to quit but I ran out of daylight. Sadly, I shared my loops with nobody.

I found a pair of dirt bike or MTB goggles today. A google search tells me they are scratch resistant, shatter proof, wind proof etc. They are for off road riding. I might employ them this winter to keep that portion of my face warm.

The calm winds carried over into today. It stayed in the eighties and without brutal winds, it was a great day to be outside. I took full advantage and rode early, again in the afternoon, and after dinner. I logged 120 miles before I put the bike up for the night. I saw my buddy Tim the trike guy this morning. He was the lone rider on the sidewalk South that I saw. I did see a few riders in town. I hope to see more tomorrow with it being Saturday.

This morning, as I was just to the South end of town, a truck pulled up beside me. I stopped and the driver rolled down his window and said that he has seen me riding many times between the two towns. He saw me last year.. maybe the year before as well. I told him I ride every chance I get. He said that's the reason I stopped you... I've just got to know, how many miles you've got on that bike. I told him and he said Jesus... that's unreal. I told him I not only love to ride but hope that it's improving my health. He said he'll honk and wave when he sees me next.

Speaking of miles. I reached a milestone today. I didn't start out riding with the circumference of the Earth a target. It just became a joke of riding around the world with me riding so much. Today I exceeded the 24,901 miles, the circumference at the equator. I stopped and grabbed a pic to mark my first loop.
Circumference.jpg

I rode twice today and I wasn't the only cyclist out there for a change. I even passed one riding on the siding of the state highway. I rarely see anyone riding there except Tim the trike guy and myself. Considering it was a pretty nice day to ride, the amount of people taking advantage of the weather was less than I anticipated. Oh well.

I lost a seal in my front brake today. I went to brake and the lever just clicked on the handlebar. I stopped and looked to find that it lost all of it's oil. The seals are replaceable if you know what brake brand and model you have. The original brakes were quite generic and have no name on them. They have served me well and I have often contemplated upgrading them. Now is a great time. :) I ordered a complete upgrade kit. The kit includes multiple mounting options, the three pin motor shutoff that my bike uses, two new 180mm rotors, 4 piston calipers, and hopefully sufficient length of pre-bled hoses. The original calipers are 2 piston. Almost all e-bikes are equipped with 4 piston calipers for superior stopping power with the heavier bikes. As I said, they did cheap on the brakes. Mine have lasted well because I mostly ride the non stop sidewalk and road siding. I am actually looking forward to the upgrade. I was close to ordering new pads front and back anyway. The front rotor is not shot but replacing it will not be a waste of money. I will likely not change the rotor on the rear wheel. It only has 900 miles on it.

I went riding and then came home to tend to my cook. I then went riding again. It's a nice day and I might go riding after dinner. The ribs on the smoker will be ready in forty five minutes. I'll eat and then think about it. So far I've logged 42 miles. It's embarrassing to say that I saw nobody riding the sidewalk today. I saw a couple of riders in town and that's it. I only shared the sidewalk with an elderly couple walking. I went around them on my first loop, met them near the town South my second loop, and met them once more at the beginning of my third loop on the sidewalk. That has to be an eight or nine mile walk for them. Good on them! My back is too messed up to do that sort of walking. Riding I can do. Walking would be great and wouldn't require constant repair of something so you can continue to walk. :)

I wanted to add to the my earlier post but the forums won't let me edit. I did go riding again and logged another 44 miles. It was a nice evening and I wasn't enjoying it alone. I met and passed a few riders, walkers, and joggers tonight. The highway, as it leaves the town South, has a residential street running parallel to it. I saw an elderly man riding what appeared to be a brand new e-bike. When I came around the next time he was still riding on that side street. When I got the access road I decided I'd dip into the addition and try to catch up to the guy who was heading the other direction. He turned into one of the streets before I caught up to him and I decided not to follow him. I just wanted to say hi and welcome him to the e-bike world. That housing addition was a drive-in theater when I was a child. I distinctly remember seeing The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance there. I looked... 1962 release.

Today was awkward. They milled the top off my residential street Friday and they resurfaced it today. I had my big mower on the trailer and parked it around the block before they closed off my street. I mowed my lawns but I needed my three foot mower to get into two different back yards. I had to wait about an hour and a half before they game me the okay to exchange mowers so I could wrap up my work. When completed, I fixed dinner and ate a little early and then went riding.

It was really nice riding weather this evening. It was in the mid eighties and zero wind. Being as I didn't have time for two rides, I decided to slow down and enjoy one ride at a leisure pace. I managed to log 49 miles on the battery and I could have maybe squeaked four or five miles more. It's fun to ride a slow pace now and then just like it's fun to burn up the track. My normal and preferred pace is around 22mph.

I had some company on the sidewalk tonight. I met one rider and passed two. The cyclists were definitely out numbered by the walkers and joggers. It's always fun to see people enjoying the nice weather.

My new brakes are supposed to arrive tomorrow. I'm anxious to see if the "multiple mounting options" will allow me to install the calipers without running to a bike shop or hardware store. I know it will take considerable time to remove the old and install the new. I might not have the window tomorrow, even if everything is good to go.
It all depends of the delivery time and my free time.

The new brakes arrived around three this afternoon. I was through mowing so I jumped right onto replacing the front / shot brake. I first pulled the wheel off the front of the bike and removed the old and installed the new rotor. Next I removed the old caliper and was uninstalling the brake lever and reservoir when I realized I had mistakenly ordered the worn cut off pin set. I pulled on the cable that was bundled with others to make certain I was tracing the right one to a connector to be certain I had the right pin set. I even took a picture of whatever I pulled apart that had three pins. When I pulled the brake connection apart it was clearly a two pin. (probably the first mistake I've ever made bwahahaha) I spent an hour or more trying to contact the seller. They are all set up to auto return with all sorts of options etc but not a person to explain what was wrong. I have everything boxed back up and a free ups mailing code to return the item. I could return it for another but there was no option to return it for a different pin set. I gave up, ordered the correct one, and created a ticket to return the used one because it was incorrect. It will be interesting to see if I get a full refund. The installed and removed rotor wasn't harmed but the screws with blue Loctite missing that was on when delivered to me is used. We shall see. I am rarely upset but today I was irate. I hate making such a stupid blunder.

It was getting late when the dust settled from the fiasco and I had my bike, without a front brake, put back together. I rode two loops to calm my jets and came home and cooked some hotdogs. It was lightly raining so I didn't try riding later. I saw one high school age jogger and a couple of pedestrians early evening. I suspect the weather and the threat of a real rain kept most everyone home.
