Root e:can't mount/dev/st15

While trying to install Vamps new lv kernel, I ran across a new error. When I boot to recovery, it won't access my SD card to install anything. I get the error "e:Can't mount /dev/st15 (invalid argument) and several others about not being able to mount. I formatted the SD card and that didn't help. I reflashed recovery with SWUpdater, and it didn't help. The phone works great and there are no performance issues, but I can't apply anything. Help!

Something like this happened to me..... Trying to flash vamp's ext4 on a different kernel as a test (lol). Here's what I did to fix it (I know this is a long way and there might be methods but it works) :
1. Flash this through SWUpdater: Free File Hosting, Online Storage &amp File Upload with FileServe (installs 2.1 with custom recovery)
2. Put this in your SD card in sdx/zip. Flash it through the custom recovery (puts you to 2.1 stock) http://www.fileserve.com/file/YVWBtE9http://www.mediafire.com/?ybz8rhbrqruvrdm
3. Download this file and place it in the root of your SD card. Select apply update.zip in the stock recovery (get to it same way as custom recovery) update.zip - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download (updates phone to Froyo)
4. Download this file and flash it through SWUpdater: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21183005/recovery.tar (adds custom recovery to 2.2)

Hope this helped!

I'm downloading everything I need for this right now. I'll keep you posted.

Update:
I'm back to eclair. Every time I try to go to Froyo it gets all screwy. I'll hit it again hard tomorrow when my head is clear.

Alright. You may have gotten a bad download. You can try updating it OTA by checking for updates in settings-phone info

Coop, still working at it hard. I've flashed my phone with skeet recovery so many times today its schizophrenic. I think I have a bad download of Froyo, so I am redoing it again. It's been a great learning experience. I think it's karma for telling CTB6 this is idiot-proof.

All fixed. Still not sure why it got all jacked up, but it was a learning process. I think ext4 was at the root of my misery. Every time I got to flashing that, I was getting errors. I re downloaded and installed it and everything went fine from there. Now to have fun with Titanium Backup. Anyone else have any luck doing batch processes with TB? Every time I try to restore a batch it gets like 5 apps in and freezes.

Trust me, it's not frozen usually :) I can batch all day lol

Mine freezes five apps in normally. I just back out and redo it. Glad I could help. But haha, that happens a lot. Bad downloads. What can go wrong will go wrong. And EXT4 is the source of a lot of my problems..... Although it isn't made for my kernel ;)
