E-mail App with Folders???

Is there an e-mail app where you can have custom folders to put e-mails in to? I've been looking but can't seem to find anything. I wanted to make a few folders (Music, Travel, etc.) where I would keep certain e-mails and the rest could just stay in my inbox. Let me know if there are any suggestions.

Thanks,

Not many email apps let you create folders. But it's not really a problem because almost all email apps will automatically sync (aka import or transfer) folders you create using your email provider's webmail interface into your email app.

If you use Gmail they're called Labels instead of Folders but functionally they're the same. Log into your Gmail account online and create new Folders/Labels there and they will automatically transfer into your email app just as if you had created them there. As I said, this works with almost any email app.

If you use another email service such as Hotmail, Yahoo or a private domain, the same thing applies. Create folders and they will sync the phone.

The above applies to IMAP service accounts. If you have POP3 service folders are not supported. But POP3 is outdated and most email service is IMAP these days.

The only thing I would add to the reply by @Crashdamage is if you do have one or more POP accounts it is still possible to set up a Gmail account to 'fetch' POP mail. It goes into the Gmail inbox and you can set up whatever labels you need as Crashdamage described.

I do this with a couple of Orange.net accounts which I have and which don't support IMAP. Although it isn't an ideal solution it does allow sorting/locating emails.

There is a limit of five POP accounts per Gmail account.

Coincidentally I've just tonight downloaded the Mail.Ru app to test out (want all my email locally for when I have no data signal - which is quite often where I live) and that can create folders. Just tested it and the new folder popped up on my imap server and on my desktop within a few moments. ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.mail.mailapp&hl=en ...
Yeah, syncing created folders works both ways. But IMHO it's more reliable to do it on the server side than the client side. I think that's probably mainly why so few mobile clients include folder creation. It's just not good practice.

To keep IMAP mail on the phone locally I just set AquaMail to sync a LOT of mail - like 1000 or more. Even then and checking 5 accounts with extra added folders, AquaMail is so cleanly coded and fast it only takes a few seconds to do a mail pass, unless, of course there's Lotsa mail or attachments to download.
