Help E.mail Invalid address

catmek64

Newbie
When I attempt to send my wife , or reply to my wife at her work, I always get an "invalid email address". It's an .org extension. All other extensions=no problem. Can't figure it out. This with the "other e-mail package, set up with Charter.net. Ideas? Thanks.

Does she use any special characters in her email address? Also, don't post her email address in the thread for you / her security.

BTW, I changed the prefix on your thread to support so hopefully it will get more eyeballs.

No special characters. I can send from my pc, web, or client, with no problem. The droid just doesn't like the .org email extension, and calls it out as invalid.

I'm guessing here, I have not seen this issue. Just trying to eliminate some oddball things before I ask some friends to take a look.

Check your wife's email address in your contacts and make sure it is correct. I wonder if maybe you have it incorrect there and it is using that instead of "replying" to the address that the message came from (this would probably affect new messages to her as well). Just let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

I just sent 2 emails to her work, using contacts. Works fine. But, it won't allow me to "reply" Strange. And, the addy looks identical. I'm missing something.

Yes, thru the phone. Wierd. Gotta wait till she goes to work, have her send another one (as I've deleted the previous emails from her work) Thanks for pitching in. :)

Ok, I'm baffled and an going to ask some friends to take a look at this thread. It may be a little bit as I'm on my phone right now.

catmek64, Have you tried a reply to your wife again? I'm fiddling with a new email app so I can be smart enough to walk you through it. I don't want to just blindly recommend it without being able to help you use it, but it has a ton of options. That way we can eliminate or isolate the current email app you are using as the culprit.

If you would like to try the app anyway here is the market link (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fsck.k9#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDUwMSwiY29tLmZzY2suazkiXQ..). It comes highly recommended by some very smart folks here.

Hi.
...I asked her to send another one today, but she must have forget. And, she's now running around town. So. I hope tomorrow she will. Thanks for the idea. Oh, I can send from G.mail, but not he "other" email client.
...Another wierd problem. When I use PowerAmp thru bluetooth, when ever something is going on in the background, the volume keeps "pumping". Didn't do this with Cappy. With the short battery life, I'm beginning to dislike this phone. Too late to take it back, too.

Well, let's deal with one problem at a time. I'll certainly stick around for follow ups, but sometimes they are interrelated.

Well it seems that the "reply" page, subs her name for the addy. So, I just have to delete it, and add from contacts. Shouldn't have to do that. It may be a "mobile" issue with her corp email server. Who knows. We'll see. Thanks for your time. :) :)
