Help E-mail notification Sound

I have a Razr Maxx running ICS. I d/l a ringtone that says you have mail and planned on using as the sound bite for mail messages. How do I do this? It lets me make it a ringtone but I don't want it as a ringtone but the mail message notification I get when some sends me a new e-mail.

Open up your email account, hit settings, then you'll see it says chose Ringtone...that is your notification sound.

But I can't find the ringtone that I d/l. It showed up if I want to change the ringtone but doesn't show up if I want to change the mail notification sound.

You need to move the file you d/l. Get an app from G store called astro file manager. Open it, agree, tap manage my files, locate the download folder where tthe soundfile is, (download,zedge,etc..) once you see it, long press on the file, tap move, tap home up top then the media folder then notification folder then up top tap paste. Exit back to home screen, tap menu, system settings, sound, then go to default notification sound, android system, locate your file in list tap to select, this will be your gmail notification sound.
