Hi, When i open an E-mail using the standard GS3 icon (not GMail) I have to click on attachment then wait for it to download before i can see it..! on my old Desire HD the attachment would be downloaded ready as soon as i opened the message, i can`t find any settings to sort this out.
Any ideas how to fix.?? Cheers.

Go to your inbox, then press the menu button (bottom left of the device), select the settings option, then select the account you want to change. You will see an Auto-download attachments option.

Hi , thanks for the reply, unfortunately there is no option for auto download attachments showing..!

Just to expand on the previous solution.

Load email
Press options button
Select settings
Select specific email settings *not* general settings

Auto download option should just be down the bottom of the screen there.

Are you using Exchange Activesync (i.e. push email)? This may have some bearing on whether or not you have the option at all.

In case you're in the wrong place. I see the following items when, from the inbox I select Application Menu->Settings and then my Hotmail account:

Common Settings: Account name, signature, default account, Alway CC/Bcc myself, forward with files, show images.

Data Usage: Auto-download attachments.

Exchange ActiveSync Settings: Various

Notification Settings: Email Notifications, Select ringtone

Server settings: Various.

Hi All, Thanks again for your help. When i follow your instructions and get to Data Usage:, the only option listed is Update frequency.. also Exchange ActiveSync Settings: is not listed at all

my e-mail is a freeserve (old wanadoo) account not sure if its an Exchange Activesync or not.? (dont really understand the difference)

Thanks again.

Ok, it looks like the option is only available if you've got push email enabled (and if I'm wrong, and you have, it'll be a an email server restriction).

It might be worth checking with your email provider if they support Exchange ActiveSync, often referred to simply as Exchange Push, as this this comes with other benefits.
