well as u can tell my ear speaker blew on my hero but what i want to know is this might be ridiculous but idc i figure why not ask i have the 3500 mah battery and could that have anything to do with it dont flame me just curious thanks

it shouldn't have anything to do with it, at least I don't see why it would. sometimes they just blow.

On my old razr, the earpiece blew after about a year. Took it back and they gave me a new one under manufacturers warranty. What I didn't tell them was that I threw it against the wall when the alarm on it went off one morning lol

My ear speaker has been sounding weird really since the day I got it. I was too excited to take it back and now that I am rooted I just deal with it.

But my USB is also cracked so I may RUU and take it back for warranty.

If u have insurance or maybe if u dont they'll get you a new one for the blown speaker they ordered me one yesterday I have to go exchange mine tomorrow I have insurance I don't know what they'll do if u don't but you do always have the HTC warranty for a year but thanks for the help I think it was a dumb question but doesnt hurt to ask

Did they make you claim it on the insurance? If it's a free replacement then it's a warranty replacement and not insurance. If they made you shell out the 100 deductible on the insurance for a hardware defect, which this sounds like IMO, then I would be having a long talk with a manager about it.

heres what happened i went in there told them that my ear speaker was rattling and sounded like cracked or blown and he told me to leave it at the store for 20 min and he gave me a reciept to come back and claim it so i came back gave them the reciept and they gave me my phone and told me they just ordered a replacement and it should be there friday so come friday and exchange your phone and thats it now i have to go friday to get it he didnt say anything about money just come get your new phone friday

As stated above, this is a warranty exchange. Do not pay for it, that's not what insurance is for.

ok even if i didnt know that and they tried to make me pay for it they would not be happy with my language to say the least lol because how are they going to make me pay for something thats not even my fault but just for my knowledge whats covered by insurance and whats covered by the manafacturer warranty

Dead on. Blown speaker should be a hardware defect, no matter what caused it (unless it was thrown against the wall :P)

Except, what I have run into in the past with Sprint stores, is that they agree (whatever my defect is) is warranty, but then tell me the waranty is thru the manufacturer. They would be happy to sent it in for me. BUT! If I had their insuance, they would exchange it for me on the spot, for free.

This is usually true... but always the case. If you contact the manufacturer directly they will usually work something out (in the case of all the unlocked phones I've owned).

I would assume that the manufacturer would send you a new phone, then have you send the old phone back in that box. That's how my Razr was, and how all of my computer parts are

Yes, possibly the manufacturer would work with you, but in my case, on my previous phone (dare I say it? Instinct) the touch screen was totaly frozen. Couldn't make or answer any calls. So, while I wait for the manufacturer to send me a working one, what do I use for a phone?

In its defense, Sprint did offer to exchange it on the spot for me for $50. Which I grudgingly accepted. Remember, it was still under the 12 month warranty. But Sprints position was they didn't manufacture it.

As soon as I got home, I called retentions and got the $50 credited back to my acct.

The second time it happened to my Instinct, Sprint said it was a known issue, and exchanged it for me on the spot. Two months later I bought the Hero.

Added: I am NOT endorsing buying insurance, just commenting on the ease (or lack thereof) of exchange under warranty.
