Earphone buttons not working!

As the title says, ive got a pair of Sony in ear earphones, they work on my desire but nothing on the razr, ive tried 3 different music players and a pair of iPod earphones with remote and nothing, also looked through the settings and cant see anything.

Can anyone confirm that they have a set of earphones with remote that work please, if it's something Motorola left out purposely then thats shocking.

The ones you have are simply incompatible.

There's an app for that. I have it set up to launch under smart actions when i plug in a headphone. look under headphone button control in the marketplace. I use the free one (the icon is a set of iPhone ear buds).

i couldn't get that one to work properly with my headphones (skullcandy) but this one works great (i only really need the "play/pause" and "answer call/end call" functions: "headset button controller trial". not sure if the trial is just for like a week or if it has some features disabled, but i'd pay for this if i have to - in the freezing cold winters in NYC, i'm not gonna go fumbling around in my pockets with frozen fingers looking to play with buttons on my phone. heh.
