Help earphone troubles

earphones recently stopped working with phone (Sonata 3 by ZTE) sound of phone ok but nothing through earphones how to fix
 
Try a different ear bud set.... make sure that the phone's output jack is not the problem.

I always use a Bluetooth headset, have never, ever, used the plug in ear buds.... they are a super PITA for me, always getting that damn cord tangled up with something.
 
Also try restarting the phone as well, in case it's just acting funky.

I've never plugged anything in either for a long time now, and use BT speakers mostly. We're perfect customers for iPhone 7.... :D
