Earphones not connected, but they are

I'm trying to use the Radio app on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A, but when attempting to use the feature, it says that the headphones are not connected even though they are.

Does anyone why this is happening to me?

Assuming the headphones are Bluetooth, I take it you've paired them with your phone, and checked that they're listed in the Bluetooth device section of the settings?

They are not Bluetooth, and it’s a Samsung Galaxy tablet. Not a phone.

ok have you tried and just re-booted the tablet? is the tablet up to date with any updates?

basically it could be one of two things:
1. it could be a software issue
2. it could be hardware.

if it is software you can try rebooting, go into safe mode, or do a factory reset.

if it is hardware, it could either be your tablet's phone jack or your headphones. have u tried other headphones?

Yes, and the tablet is up to date. It’s probably most likely the headphones though because I tried it with Bluetooth ones, and was able to listen to music just fine with those.
