Help earphones not working

I have suddenly lost found on my earphones. the sound on the phone without the earphones works fine. I have tried another set of earphones and have the same problem. Could this be a setting or do I have a hardware problem?

Unless you have 2 pairs of bad earphones (try one of them in some other device to make sure), it's probably a defective earphone jack.
