Help earpiece not working in asus zenfone 5

The earpiece of my phone has stopped working recently, previously it was intermittent. When on calls i have to turn on the speaker or put an earphone.
Is it a hardware issue? when it was working i found the sound to be a bit distorted while it was crisp and clear using speakers. Please help

If your phone is under a year old and still under warranty, I'd look to replace it as it's likely a hardware defect and nothing you can really do about.

Yes I got the same problem i.e. Internal speaker is not working my dear.

I had the same issue and also i have problem with the Flash. So i returned this back to flipkar.

There is problem with the internal speaker now it seems.

Flipkart replaced the phone after i had reported the issue and requested a replacement.
But the same problem had came up on my new phone again after around 20 days of using it. The only way to make the speaker work is i have to tap or blow on the speaker. Another problem which i noticed is the phone doesn't charge to 100%. It stops at around 76% - 80%. I did a hard reset for both the issues but the it still persists.

I am also facing the same problem. I purchased this mobile on Flipkart almost 3 months back. Phone is still under warranty. When i check with Flipkart team of earpeice receiver not working problem, they are suggesting to approach service center. Won't they replace it if it is in warranty? Visiting service center is the only option or any other way to correct it?
