Help Easy Free Backup to PC is Possible?

Hello all,

I am reviving my inactive, unrooted One Touch Evolve 5020T (Android 4.1.2) that came from Family Mobile and is going to Us Mobile (T-mobile phone/network). I want to backup every single BIT I can since I have NO existing backup and I have important data on there. I'm undecided whether I need to backup app data or not. I would like to backup at least a comprehensive list of the apps including their versions. I must backup everything else including contacts, messages and logs, call logs, calendar, notes, bookmarks, sd card, photos, videos, non-google apk, etc. NO google please. I am very interested in Apowersoft Phone Manager 2.7.1 but I will NOT pay for it or end up with a useless backup. edit: [It promises a one-click backup from the desktop via usb or wifi.] I downloaded the "free" file from the web but it doesn't connect the phone (UI has no graphics and does not execute; also, get difxapi.dll error) and since they are in Hong Kong they are not available until late Sunday. I am having to look at other options since I can't get it to work and I want to activate the new sim today. Help O learned ones.

A free backup everything app does not exist.

A 'free' download of a Chinese app from some website is almost certain to be infected with malware. I wouldn't trust it at all.

Titanium will backup just about everything, but requires a rooted phone and is not free..
Helium used to be good but has not been updated since July, 2015 and may be abandoned. It's still available though. But it cannot backup everything.
MyBackup Pro is probably the best option left, but it cannot backup everything either and the Pro version is not free. But it does a good job with what it can do and is reliable.

I know you're anti-Google, but you really should enable 'Backup my data' and 'Automatic restore' in Settings > Backup and restore. This backs up and restores Google contacts, Keep notes, Calendar, home screens, WiFi passwords and some other settings.

Some apps like AquaMail, Nova Launcher, X-plore, FolderSync and VoiceChoice have a backup function that will generate backup configuration files. Manually copy those for quick restoration. If there's no built-in backup function, you may be able to find and copy the configuration file for some apps.

The entire SD card can be copied by USB cable, WiFi, card reader or cloud storage. Don't forged hidden files.

When setting up, enter the appropriate Google account as the administrator, get WiFi working, add the other various accounts and start downloading and installing.

Copy over the backup configuration files for AquaMail, Nova etc and all that extensive app configuration that took hours originally is restored bang - bang. Most of the time in setting up is spent reconfiguring those apps that do not generate backup configuration files. Unfortunately, it seems many developers who write otherwise nice apps overlook this important function. All in all it really isn't too bad if you have a plan and apps such as AquaMail and Nova that will save the most complicated setups and restore them in seconds.

I use FolderSync for instant upload of important files to Google Drive for backup so I never worry about losing anything.

Thank you very much for such a detailed answer. I will try to understand all the different steps. Though I was hoping for a less tech-y solution. Piecemeal scares me because I don't know what exact files to copy or where to find them. But thanks so much.

I use Aqua Mail, Super Backup Pro, Nova Prime.

I have a Galaxy S5 and recently bought a Note 4.

I used all of the backup files for the S5 to install everything to the Note 4.
It took less than an hour for everything to be done, and it all happened via WiFi w/o the SIM card being installed.

I was amazed! the Note 4 looks and works exactly like my S5... I can switch the SIM card between them and life goes on.

download AirDroid its an app for your phone. When you turn it on, it turns your phone into a type of server. Then you go into a browser and go to an address and you can access the files on your phone. Its pretty cool. So it can transfer files over wifi

You should be able to plug in a USB cable... depending on your phone.

Not sure. I presume he updates when he needs to?

I know he's been bad at updating his other apps, but that's why I thought he left Cyanogen so he could focus on his own apps.

Turns out AVG found this when I tried to reinstall a fresh copy of the free version of apowersoft

but the download was clean always and first install didn't have a problem.

It is on Play Store (app) but the desktop component is the one I mean and it was downloaded from developer web page not one of those iffy download sites. Also it has lots of reviews all over the net.

That's no guarantee it's not crap. Lotsa crapware gets good reviews from clueless users. See this:
