Help Easy notification alarm

I don't even remember what it was called when I used the GULP, Iphone. But, I need an app to send me a notification at a certain time for simple tasks, like "Tape American Idol" at 8 p.m. Wednesday. With the Iphone I could set it and at precisely 8 pm that night I would hear a chime and look at it and know to start taping. I feel like an idiot because it's probably something so simple, but I need help!! What do you recommend?

I just use Google Calendar for this. You can set 3 different types of reminders - Pop-up, SMS (only available in web version) &/or email.

Why not use S Planner? It is pre-installed and you can find it by selecting Apps on the Home screen. When you have opened it tap the '+' symbol at the top of the screen to set a new event, enter your note and select the '+' symbol alongside the 'Reminder!

Thanks for the suggestions. But I think I just found what I was looking for. It's an app called COL Reminder. You can set it to vibrate, ring, etc. So if I'm upstairs folding laundry, for instance, and my phone is downstairs, it will sound a pre set ringtone at the precise time I desire, to tell me to DVR my show, etc. You can have it repeat the sound every couple of minutes until you turn it off, like an alarm clock, if you wish. I will give it a try and let you know how it works.

I just use the alarm, you can set text on the alarm also when setting it, I always use it to remind me of things, I think the stock alarm app is pretty underestimated to be honest.

You are right, Evohicks. I didn't even realize what the stock alarm did. Now I no longer need a special app. Thank you for pointing out what was always there from the beginning!!
