Hey guys -

I'm new to the forums, and have a very basic question. What is the easiest way for me to transfer files from my S3 to my PC? Like most, I'm always taking a ton of pics/videos and downloading alot of music files on my phone, so the space runs out pretty quickly. I would really like the most efficient way to transfer all my files, particularly the biggest files, to my PC with the least amount of effort.

I don't really like cloud services because I'm not too comfortable with the idea of all my personal data sitting in some obscure digital space.

I tried doing the traditional USB way of transferring files, but my connection always sucks (very spotty in terms of my pc recognizing my phone).

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Also, how can I filter through the dozens of folders in my phone for those sub folders with the largest files?

For example, there's only 570 MB fof free space out of 12 GB in my phone folder. But there's dozens of sub folders that I have. How can I identify those sub folders without taking the time to click through pretty much each one see how much space it has? Is there a way where my phone can instruct me on which folder is taking up the most space?

Thanks again.

I have two recommendations for you:

1) Snappea is app the basically allows you to manage your phone from your PC. Of particular interest to you is that you can open up access to the file system through Windows Explorer.

2) Bitorrent Sync allows you to set up sync relationships between folders on your phone and other devices including your PC. It basically does the same thing as Dropbox or Google Drive but without the need to store your data with a 3rd party.
