Easy Tether Crash

Hello,I just joined and am very impressed so far.I have a Samsung Galaxy Variant with Verizion.I arrived at this forum through the advise of a friend.
I connect my Dell 1720 ,windows 7 via easy tether .This gives me a blue screen crash most of the time,I am determined to learn how to use this phone's potential and am learning plenty here.Any help would really be appreciated.
