Ebuddy Help

Can someone help me with Ebuddy? I was able to add my gmail account and am able to send and receive messages if someone else starts a chat but I am not able to see that open chat when I click on chats and I am also not able to add someone to my buddy list?
what am I doing wrong?
when I go to developer site there isnt much of a help area

Try reinstalling the app.
